windows 7 release candidate came out on may 5th I installed it on my mac mini with boot camp, it's working great. i get about 50fps in counter-strike source with the graphics maxed and 1900x1280 resolution.

a new feature we will see in windows 7 is XP mode. Which will emulate windows xp. It was very smart of windows to put this in  there. the main reason people dont upgrade there windows is because they have custom applications that they use for buisness that are not supported in vista or windows 7.  the XP mode will just run with out you even knowing. Just click on your old application and it will run in "compatibility mode"

rumors put the final release sometime this fall between August and october. Acer said they will be shipping a laptop with it installed late october.

on the apple side, some pretty credible rumors say there will be a new iphone announced in June, their may also be and Apple tablet which would be amazing. It would be subsized by att, running on the 3G network.

I found a cool facebook easter egg online. It pops up a lens flare every time you click, scroll or type. Its the old konami key combo. after you log in click anywhere on the background except and edit field and type "up up down down left right left right B A then hit enter.

Amazon's NEW Kindle DX!

kindle dx

Amazon just released a new Kindle, the Kindle DX. When I first heard about this I thought it was a pretty shaddy move by Amazon. Releasing a new version just 3 months after the release of the Kindle 2. After looking at the specifications of the new DX, I realized they are for two different markets. The Kindle DX boast a descent 9.7'' screen compared to the Kindle 2's 6'' screen. The large screen makes the DX better for newspapers, magazines, PDF textbooks, and technical documents/manuals. They are both still lacking a color screen which could get in the way of some technical documents and manuals for professionals.

Sim Card Spy Ear! $65

Audio Surveillance comes to the consumer. This tiny little device has a built in microphone that picks up the audio around it. All you have to do is throw in the sim card from your cell phone then call your number from a different phone. Obviously I know you would only use this in legal ways, but I'm sure you can think of some fun things to do with this. http://tinyurl.com/dk7xyz

Windows 7 Release Candidate May 5th!

Win7 RC

Windows 7 RC is almost out. On May 5th it will be available to the public. Im not sure why they are even doing a RC, since the Win7 Beta was pretty much their RC. If your excited for the Windows XP Mode in Windows 7 it is NOT built in and will be offered as a free download from Microsoft as of right now I am not sure when that will be available.

Who should install it? Well if your a computer geek you will most likely be upgrading from the beta. If your having major problems with Vista I would suggest the RC, or if you have multiple machines and want to tinker around. Since it's pretty much the final version there isn't that much of a risk. One of the problems you may encounter is compatibility, for example EA Games Battlefield 2 would not run on the Win7 Beta.

Why You Need Social Media

The internet is full. Advertising your business with just a website is not going to cut it any more, the new way of advertising is social media! Businesses need to create a social bond with their customers, trying to trick the customer into buying your products or using your services is no longer an effective strategy. Here is a great article on why you need to jump into social media. http://tinyurl.com/cnumc8

Everything you need to know about Windows 7

No beta?

Here is a great article on Windows 7 from Gizmodo. One thing that i don't like about this Windows 7 Beta is that the software is already complete. So they aren't going to change anything for the final release. Ya they will fix some major bugs, but they won't fix anything major such as the new task bar. So all these multi page bug reports that beta testers are submitting get replies from Microsoft like "Thank you for your report, but Windows 7 is how we want it". So what is this beta test for?

Want more speed? CPU-Z will satisfy your cravings!

CPU-Z is a small executable file that will show you a variety of information about your computer specs. It will also let you overclock your processor very easily. The best part about it is it's FREE! Just remember that if you are using the heat sync and fan that your processor came with you should probably upgrade before you do to much overclocking. One thing you can do to prevent damage is to change a setting in your Bios that will make it so if your computer over heats it will auto shut off. Also be sure to monitor the temperatures.
